Every year the Scott SRAM team and Nino Schurter choose some races to premiere a special edition of their emblematic Scott Spark. In 2020 will be the two events of the World Cup in Nove Mesto and the World Championship where he will compete with the spectacular and newly introduced Scott Spark Supersonic. We have had the opportunity to see it closely at the Nove Mesto circuit and here you have it in detail.

Nino Schurter's Scott Spark Supersonic

The Scott Spark needs few presentations at this point. It is the model Scott Spark RC 900 Supersonic WC N1NO made of carbon HMX. The Spark was developed in collaboration with Nino Schurter himself with the aim of winning the 2016 Olympic Games and has been transformed over the years to remain the reference in terms of full suspension mountain bikes for XCO.

The Supersonic edition combines shades of blue, purple and black that change according to the incidence of light. Regardless of preferences, it is fair to say that this bike generates the Wow effect to anyone looking at it. It looks spectacular.

Rain and mud will be protagonists at the 2020 Nove Mesto World Cup so Nino Schurter has not hesitated to mount the specific Rock Shox front fender for the 2021 SID Ultimate fork, also with the matching Supersonic colours.

The control centre of Schurter's Spark Supersonic for Nove Mesto consists of the Nino edition Syncros Fraiser IC SL handlebar with 680 mm width and integrated 80mm -30° stem.

On the left is Scott's own TwinLoc control for shock and fork control from the thumb, and on the right is the SRAM AXS button for the electronic rear derailleur. In the centre the Garmin 130 GPS is elegantly integrated with Scott's own adapter.

Without a doubt the Syncros integrated handlebar is one of the components that have most helped the Spark to update itself, coming to look like a completely new mountain bike with the same frame.

The complete drivetrain is provided by the SRAM Eagle XX1 AXS wireless unit with customised crankpins and integrated potentiometer plate. The latter is a prototype that has been in direct competition with Schurter's Spark for a couple of seasons.

The pedals are the new HT M1T, one of the components that the Scott SRAM will introduce in 2020.

The rear shock is a RockShox Nude RLC3 and right in rear of it is the already iconic Nino image, but this time customised with the supersonic colours.

It mounts SRAM Level Ultimate brakes with 160 mm discs and silver coloured calipers at the front and rear.

Nino relies on the Maxxis Aspen 29.x2.4" WT in rear and test pilot Maxxis Recon Race in front, tyres for mud and special tyres for wide wheels, such as the 30mm DT Swiss 1200 he is using.

In previous seasons, the upper tube included a part of Schurter's record, this time only showing his name with the rainbow of World Champion.
