In 2019, Sweden's Jenny Rissveds returned to competition after a very tough period in which she was practically retired from the sport as a result of a serious depression. That year she won again and proved that she is still one of the best mountain bikers in the world, now her team changes its name to Team 31: Outride and grows with the arrival of Kelsey Urban.

The Rio Olympic champion returned in 2019 with her own team which she named Team 31 in homage to article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. That team will now be renamed Team 31:Outride following a collaboration with anti-racist cycling organisation Outride, which partners with schools, community partners, coaches, teams and cyclists to promote a more equitable, inclusive and healthy future for young people.

Both Team 31 and Outride believe that bicycles have a life-transforming impact on the cognitive, emotional and physical well-being of young people and their communities. Read more about the organisation here: outridebike.org.

Kelsey Urban, US U-23 champion joins Team 31:Outride

Team31:Outride has signed Kelsey Urban, the reigning US Under-23 XCO champion, who will compete with the team for the first time at the Albstadt XCO World Cup.

I am happy and proud that our team is taking the next step and I am looking forward to continuing to grow this movement together with Kelsey and Outride,” said Jenny Rissveds.

I could not be happier to be joining a team that feels completely aligned with the rider I aspire to be,” said Kelsey Urban. “This is a team dedicated to chasing the freedom and joy of two wheels, then inspiring others to do the same. And of course, I am pretty excited to have the opportunity to learn from a long-time hero and my new teammate, Jenny, both on and off the bike.

Since she left Scott SRAM and returned to racing, Rissveds has kept a very low media profile, but she is one of the riders to keep an eye on as she is capable of being among the front-runners in any race.
